Frequently Asked Questions

What is Yugandhar?

Yugandhar is a non-profit community-driven mentorship platform created by IT professionals, for IT professionals. Our goal is to help individuals learn, grow, and build software together in a stress-free and collaborative environment.

Who can join Yugandhar?

Yugandhar is open to experienced professionals looking to upskill, freshers seeking hands-on experience, and anyone passionate about learning, mentoring, or building software as a community.

Is Yugandhar a paid program?

No. Yugandhar is a non-profit initiative. Our focus is on learning, mentorship, and collaboration.

What kind of activities does Yugandhar offer?

Based on mutual interest and experience we will organize ourselves into groups. The group will set aside its learning objectives and project work. We organize group-based learning sessions, mentorship programs, open-source software development, real-world project collaboration, and startup incubation initiatives.

Our vision is to make another Apache Software Foundation written by Yugandhar community members.

How does mentorship work?

Experienced professionals mentor individuals or groups through structured guidance, practical projects, system design discussions, and career-oriented learning.

When we spawn projects, we will request mentors to guide the project on a weekly cadence. We will request mentors to give one knowledge sharing session in a month. In the absence of a mentor, the team chooses a lead from within to drive the project and mentor each other.

How can I get involved?

You can start by registering on the platform. We will be active more on the Linkedin and Facebook groups till we develop this site further. The Yugandhars themselves will decide meaningful course of action based on the collective interest.

We are seeking three types of participants: Learners, Mentors, and Patrons. Learners are individuals looking to gain knowledge and experience. Mentors are experienced professionals willing to guide and support learners. Patrons are organizations or individuals who want to contribute to the working on Yunagandhar.

Is this redundant having Linkedin/Facebook?

No. We are not repeating anything that is already available. We will use Linkedin/Facebook for social connection and communication. We will use Google Docs to share our ideas, project designs and documents. We will use GitHub to collaborate on code. We will learn things on other learning platforms like GeeksforGeeks, Coursera, Udemy etc.

What is not available on internet is a free and direct connect and mentorship. Yugandhar is hosted on AWS. We can freely experiment our learning, try it out under guidance and contribute back to Yugandhar itself or create other useful apps.
